MY PRIORITIES
I believe the role of City Council is to support decisions that are good for ALL of Duluth's residents. I will continue to support a low millage rate and believe through fiscal responsibility we can maintain our stellar city services but always strive to make Duluth a better place to live. My top priorities are:
SMART DEVELOPMENT
We need to continue to focus on smart and strategic development for both residential and commercial. There is a shortage of Executive Housing in our city and there are several opportunities on the horizon to fill this gap. Executive Housing is vital to sustaining Duluth's future economic prosperity and it also creates a sense of community. Many of our citizens want to stay in Duluth as their families grow, but there is limited housing to meet that need. Great families are forced to move to other cities to find housing.
Duluth should be an easy place to do business. We need to make it as simple as possible for small businesses and larger corporations to thrive in the City of Duluth and I will continue to support any policies or procedures that accomplish this goal.
INFRASTRUCTURE & STORM WATER
As an older community, Duluth faces challenges with aging infrastructure and stormwater management that must be addressed. Many neighborhoods are struggling with stormwater issues and this must be addressed. I am committed to supporting continued improvement and solving these issues for our citizens.
PUBLIC SAFETY
Keeping our citizens safe should be the top priority of our city government. Duluth is one of the best because we honor our police and military and give them the respect they deserve. I am committed to supporting our police through competitive pay.
We keep our city safe by addressing areas that pose risks to our citizens. I strongly supported the crosswalk on Abbott’s Bridge at Coleman Middle School and will continue to support safety improvements wherever they are needed
BEAUTIFICATION & CONNECTION
We have a beautiful city but we still have areas to improve. During my first term I supported improvement to our parks and green spaces like the Roger's Bridge Park Trailhead and improvements at Bunten Road Park.
I will continue to support beautification improvements throughout the city and focus on ways to connect our neighborhoods and downtown for walk-ability.
